Beige
Memphis, TN
May 16, 2014

A series of works on paper exhibited at Beige, an otherwise artspace co-founded by Joel Parsons and Steven McMahon located in Memphis, TN. These drawings reference hirsute human details that are suspended in space, floating with pattern and movement. They are intricate and vaguely obsessive. Though the work varies in scale, each drawing requires the viewer to experience it at an intimate distance due to its intricacies. These minute details entice the viewers to explore the work at a close range to discover formal manifestations of accumulated hair, abstract erogenous zones, queer desire, and unconventional landscapes.
